Ese Che, el que fue Ernesto

His father Ernesto Guevara Lynch
His mother Celia de la Serna
Their Spanish and Irish blood combined
To give us Ernesto 'Che' Guevara

This man Che
The one who was Ernesto
Until he travelled South America
Upon 'la Pederosa'

It was a journey of a lifetime
With Alberto his dearest friend
He was touched by the peoples sufferung
He wished to bring their poverty to an end

Latin America was bleeding dry
Their resources pimped by Yanks
Who lined their greedy pockets
A legacy of poverty was their thanks

Despotic leaders stood idly by
Bribes lined their pockets well
They lived a life of luxury
while their people lived in hell

Che joined the Cuban Revolution
With Raul and Fidel Castro
To fight a US backed dictator
A tyrant called Batista

Che's rebels beat Batista's men
In the battle of Santa Clara
Fidel's men completed the work
With victory in Havana

Che helped to set up the communist state
Then travelled the world around
Listening for the oppressed voice
So to Bolivia he was bound

On October the 9th '69 he was captured
Then sentenced for to die
C.I.A backed Bolivian soldiers shot him
And kept his body to hide

From Argentina to Chile
From Peru to Venezuala
From a revolutionist in Cuba
To a martyr in Bolivia
